The 23rd annual Readers' Choice Awards include 1,060 winners, elected by more than 25,000 readers whose passion is travel. The ratings are stratospheric: 281 places and properties achieve scores of 90.0 or above, from Art Nouveau palaces to South Pacific bungalows to one perfect jungle camp in Thailand.

Every year since 1988, a select sample of Condé Nast Traveler readers have taken the Readers' Choice Survey. The questionnaire is available to all readers through a secure website. What makes a perfect resort? Is it enough to have the best location? Stunning rooms? Impeccable service? Yes—and no.

To strike a chord with discriminating readers, a resort must excel in all six criteria:

The Top Resorts in Oceania Region Rankings for South Pacific Management Resorts are as Follows:

Le Taha’a Island Resort & Spa, a member of the acclaimed Relais & Chateaux organization, was honored as the #3 resort in the region.  The resort was preceded by the Lodge at Kauri Cliffs, Northland, North Island (#1) and Huka Lodge, Taupo, North Island (#2).  Le Taha’a was the only resort in French Polynesia to receive a reputable high score of 91.1.
