EarthCheck Certification: A Transition to Environmental Policy for South Pacific Management Hotels

The environmental footprint left by the tourism sector is very important and has irreversible consequences for the planet.

It is therefore essential to make industry companies aware of the importance of protecting the environment.

We can happily note that hotels are becoming increasingly involved in eco-friendly approaches.

Aware of the various issues, South Pacific Management Group attaches great importance to the adoption of a sustainable development policy.

The group has decided to accompany Manava Suite Resort Tahiti and Manava Beach Resort & Spa Moorea in their environmental initiatives.

According to Jean-Marc Vermorel, Director of Operations: “The certification will help our hotels to find new solutions to be even more eco-responsible. ” In its sustainable development approach, South Pacific Management has chosen EarthCheck certification, an environmental benchmarking and certification system for the tourism sector. This certification, created in Australia in 2009, allows companies to evaluate the impact of their activities on the environment, and to encourage them to improve their economic, social and sustainable performance.

This certification is recognized worldwide because it has more than 1,200 tourism organizations in more than 65 countries.

Manava Hotels Undergoing EarthCheck Certification …

The hotels Manava Suite Resort Tahiti and Manava Beach Resort & Spa Moorea are thus in the process of transitioning to an environmental policy in order to obtain the EarthCheck label and guarantee their customers their commitment to sustainable development. As a result, hotels are putting in place measures to monitor the environmental impact of their activities (use of resources, waste production, engagement with local communities, etc.).

South Pacific Management: a player committed to sustainable development

South Pacific Management is committed in 2019 to an international environmental certification program called EarthCheck. The banner aims to certify the two Manava hotels by 2020. The group is also ready to support any other establishment, locally or internationally, in environmental certification projects.

Parau Parau Tahiti: a rendez-vous in Tahiti to promote the richness of Tahiti and its Islands abroad

Organized by Tahiti Tourisme, the second edition of Parau Parau Tahiti was an opportunity to bring together 61 international tour operators and 77 local professionals. For 3 days, the Polynesian tourism industry had the opportunity to present all the richness of Tahiti and its Islands to many product managers from all parts of the world outside Asia.

From March 20 to 22, all gathered in the Presidency and participated in 60 meetings of 15 minutes each.

The South Pacific Management sales team had the pleasure to participate in the various speed dating events with the aim of promoting the different hotels of the group, the Manava Suite Resort Tahiti, the Manava Beach Resort & Spa Moorea, the Haumana cruises but also to announce the upcoming opening of the private island of Nukutepipi.

Each of these meetings was an opportunity to publicize its product and thus have the chance to integrate the brochure and / or the website of tour operators. They were able to discover the diversity of products and services offered and establish direct relationships with the various service providers.

After these 3 days, international tour operators were able to continue their exchanges in a more relaxed setting during special events organized for the occasion. Manava Hotels had the pleasure of hosting the “White Lounge Evening” on Wednesday, March 20th. It was an opportunity for the Manava Suite Resort Tahiti to highlight its newly renovated beachfront area and for the South Pacific Management teams to continue the exchange with the international professionals.

The work on the Manava Suite Resort Tahiti waterfront, which started on August 21st, is still progressing as planned.

However, to better accommodate our guests, we have decided to include some additional services. As a result, the final delivery of the project is now scheduled for August, 6th, 2018.

The motus, the large deck of the restaurant / bar, the walkway and the wharf allowing access to the motus will be completed by May 18th but these areas will not be accessible. The kitchen, the restaurant, the pool bar, and the exterior restrooms will now be released in early August.

Throughout this period, the swimming pool will continue to operate normally.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused during the stay of your customers. Our entire team is at your disposal to answer your questions. We thank you for your understanding and support.

Haumana yatch cruises: Bora Bora -Taha’a -Raiatea

Is staying in an overwater bungalow in Tahiti on your bucket list?  Make the trip truly authentic by including a three-day yacht cruise in this nation of islands to your resort stay.  Follow the routes of the ancient Polynesians who rode the surf with ease on the 12-cabin yacht, the Haumana.  It’s the antidote to winter blues and to the idea of a large ship with a foreign crew pulling up to different ports of call.  The Tahitian crew will share with you their love of their islands — as well as its music and crafts — while the chef and his culinary team prepare sophisticated cuisine to complete this feast for the senses.

While on this comfortable, barefoot style cruise, explore Taha’a and Raiatea, with its velvet green hills and a cloud-capped peak, and learn why it is the most sacred island in the archipelago; the homeland of ancient Polynesians and set sail as they did to explore the South Seas. See first-hand why author James Michener called Bora Bora’s “the most beautiful lagoon in the world” and why this coral reef fringed set of islets is a bucket list luxury destination for travelers the world over.

With rates starting at Euros 1,500 per person, the trip includes: three nights; all meals and a selection of complementary wines; a half-day excursion to Taha’a, the Vanilla Island; and activities like kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, a barbeque on a motu and other aquatic & cultural experiences.

“Bookend” your cruise with stays at the Manava Suite Resort Tahiti – with domestic flights available from Tahiti Faaa Airport to Raiatea or Bora Bora to meet the yacht for embarkment – and then unwind after the cruise at SPM’s lovely Manava Beach Resort & Spa on Moorea.

There is simply no better way to get to know Tahitian island life than by truly “over” water!

This festive season experience the three-day luxury yacht cruise between Raiatea, Taha’a & Bora Bora

Long before Europeans ever set eyes on Polynesia, tattooed Maohi warriors raced canoes and rode the rolling surf, while villagers celebrated their arrival with native dance and music. Now you can follow the routes of the ancient islanders on small luxury yacht cruises over the holidays and make this Yuletide season one you will never forget.

Embark on the Haumana – a 12-cabin luxury yacht – for an intimate cruise to enhance your Polynesian holiday with a three-day, island-to-island sailing adventure.

Choose from a Christmas Cruise – between Raiatea and Bora Bora from December 23 to December 26 – or a special New Year’s Cruise – from Bora Bora to Raiatea from December 30 to January 2 and swap freezing snow, evergreen trees and mittens

for sunshine, swaying palms and a parfait of blue striped lagoons. The friendly crew members will share with you their love of their islands while the chef and his culinary team prepare sophisticated cuisine to complete this feast for the senses.

Explore Taha’a, a flower shaped, sister island to Raiatea, lined with soft mountains and white sand beaches with the magical scent of vanilla wafting through the air. Visit a working orchid farm to see why it’s known as the “Vanilla Island” and bring home some of this exotic crop, considered to be among the world’s finest. Next, sail to Bora Bora—a coral reef fringed set of islets that author James Michener said was home to “the most beautiful lagoon in the world.” You’ll soon see why this special place is a bucket list luxury destination for travelers the world over.

The Haumana luxury yacht includes: three nights; all meals and a selection of complementary wines; a half-day excursion to Taha’a, the Vanilla Island; and activities like kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, a barbeque on a motu and other aquatic & cultural experiences.

“Bookend” your cruise with stays at the Manava Resort Tahiti – with convenient flights available from FAA International Airport to Raiatea or Bora Bora to meet the yacht for embarkment – and then unwind after the cruise at SPM’s lovely Manava Beach Resort on Moorea.

There is simply no better way to celebrate the season, island style!
